Dead to the world
Living is the hardest thing
When your soul is already dead
And pain is the king
Of the thoughts in your head
Darkness is all you know
When everyone looks down on you
All your compassion will go
As you realise it’s nothing new
Your thoughts cut like blades
As your mind spins
And your conscience fades
Forgetting all your sins
You get up and go
Living in pain and strife
Forgetting those you know
After you have cleaned the knife.
